Security is Rendity’s top priority. As a fintech, we are aware of our responsibility towards our customers. That is why we have taken several steps to protect the data and assets of our investors.
More than 25,000 people have started using Rendity. We definitely don’t pay lip service to data protection and IT security, but are very concerned about them. We protect the data of our users with the following measures.
Almost 100 million euros have been transacted through Rendity in recent years. To protect our investors’ capital, we also rely on a number of different measures.
As a fintech, we are obliged to create an investor profile for each investor. All data that reaches our servers is encrypted and transmitted over an HTTPS connection.
The highly sensitive data of our customers is treated with the strictest confidence. We save documents encrypted on our PCI-DSS-secured server. Passwords are also stored as a hash. This security process means that passwords are virtually impossible to decrypt even in the event of unauthorized access.
Our servers are located in the European Union. This ensures that European security standards and data protection guidelines are taken into account. In the event of a data breach, we are thus obliged to inform the affected parties as quickly as possible.
When it comes to payment transactions, we comply with the global PCI-DSS security standard on the one hand and the European Payment Services Directive PSD2 on the other. This ensures that our customers are reliably protected against data breaches and card theft.
We work exclusively with selected real estate companies with a long-standing track record. The company must therefore have already proven itself in advance before it can raise capital for a project via Rendity. We have a long-standing cooperation with many partner companies.
All projects offered on Rendity are bank-financed. They have therefore already been checked in advance by a bank for feasibility and the issuer for its liquidity. We then also subject the project and the respective developer to another extensive review. This leads to the fact that we reject a large part of the applications from companies.
Payments are also processed via an insolvency-protected escrow account at BNP Paribas – one of the largest banks in Europe based on deposits. Only when the project has been successfully financed is the capital transferred to the company. Our payment service provider Lemonway and BNP Paribas are both located in the European Union – they are also subject to the strictest rules.
Since the capital of our investors is safely stored with BNP Paribas at a European bank with a full banking license, the EU deposit protection scheme applies here. This means that deposits of up to 100,000 euros per person are protected.
As a crowdinvesting company based in Germany and Austria, we are subject to a strict duty of disclosure under the Alternative Financing Act and the Small Investor Protection Act. Furthermore, we are a registered commercial investment advisor in Austria and an authorized financial investment broker in Germany, which is regulated by the Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK) and have received the Crowdinvesting Seal of Approval from the Austrian Chamber of Commerce. Thereby we subject ourselves to further transparency rules and information obligations.
Transparency and clarification are a top priority at Rendity. In many places, we point out the risks involved in investing and, with the Rendity Rating, we once again offer a comprehensive overview of the potential risks of a project. In the event of delays, we inform the affected investors promptly and in detail.
